Hello BOOYAH! volunteers!
I hope everybody had happy holidays and a happy new
year. December's BOOYAH! projects were a great
success. I look forward to volunteering with many of
you as the New Year begins. We have some great
projects lined up for January including two Disney
Day projects. Unfortunately they are all full at the
moment but you can monitor their status and get more
information
here.

IT'S GETTING CLOSER....
TEEN TEAMWORKS

Boston Cares Teen TeamWorks information
Teen TeamWorks is a collaborative
initiative of Boston Cares' Citizen
Academy and Boston Young Active Hands!
It is a "four-day, four-project" program
designed to engage a team of teenagers,
ages 13-17, in community service
projects.
This mission of Teen TeamWorks is to
provide youths with leadership
opportunities, and a chance for them to
learn about the issues, organizations
and communities encountered through
volunteer services, as well as action
steps one can to take in response to
what is learned.
Founded in 1991, Boston Cares is a
nonprofit organization that organizes
and leads team-oriented volunteer
opportunities and services in and around
Boston that have a positive impact on
individuals and communities.
* Program begins at 10:30am each
morning and concludes at 4:00pm each
afternoon.
* Morning session are workshops aimed
at leadership development, teambuilding,
and social awareness.
* Lunch is provided, followed by an
afternoon of volunteering at a different
organization each day.
* Each morning will include a
discussion and Q&A of the previous days
activities.
* Participants will engage in feedback
for each project, as well as the entire
week.
Schedule
Monday the 15th
Morning: Educational component
Afternoon: Portable project TBD
Tuesday the 16th
Morning: 9:30 START. Meet at the Red
Cross Food Pantry, directions to
follow.
Afternoon: Educational component
Wednesday the 17th
Morning: Educational component
Afternoon: Cradles "Giving Factory"
from 1-3PM.
Thursday the 18th
Morning: Educational Component
Afternoon: Hale House Winter Poetry
from 2-3:30PM.
* Program begins and ends each day
(except for Tuesday) at Boston Cares'
office in the financial district of
Boston, MA: 190 High Street, 4th floor,
Boston, MA. Transportation to and from
the program is the individual's
responsibility. Boston Cares provides
transportation to and from volunteering
sites.
