Did you just move to Boston and want to learn more
about the neighborhoods that make up this beautiful
city? Have you lived here all your life but still
want to learn more about your home town?
Then
Explorations is a great program for you.
What is Explorations?
Explorations
is a monthly series offering free tours in different
neighborhoods and historical buildings throughout
Boston. Through these tours, participants learn more
about the history and culture of these areas, and
leave with a greater understanding of the city they
call home. Boston has a rich history and a lively
culture that is not always apparent to the naked
eye. This is a great way to get to know the city the
people and events that have shaped it into what it
is today.
What is the Format of Explorations?
Each Explorations tour lasts from 1-1 ˝
hours. Participants will meet at a particular
location in the specified area, and will be led on a
tour by a knowledgeable tour guide. Examples of past
programs include: The Black Heritage Trail, the South
End, and the Mary Baker Eddy Library for the
Betterment of Humanity. Throughout the tour,
participants are encouraged to ask questions. After
the tour, participants are invited to a social
component of the program, where they can grab lunch
of a cup of coffee at a local café
