Boston Cares
volunteers are making a difference. Boston Cares
volunteers
plant community gardens, serve meals
to the homeless, clean parks, paint community
centers, tutor, care for sheltered animals, usher at
cultural performances, and much, much more.
Boston Cares organizes and leads more than 100
projects every month. We replace the traditional
means of volunteering – an ongoing commitment – with
a richly diverse and wholly flexible volunteer
program that allows people to volunteer when they
can and for what they care about. Boston Cares
empowers people to make volunteering a regular part
of their lives.
Boston Cares is the largest organization in New
England dedicated to team oriented volunteering on a
flexible basis. We welcome volunteers of all
ages, including children. We build relationships
with non-profits with needs that can be filled by
flexibly scheduled teams of volunteers. Then we
recruit, orient and deploy reliable and enthusiastic
groups of volunteers who get the job done. Since our
founding in 1991, thousands of people have
volunteered through Boston Cares at over 300 Greater
Boston schools and non-profits. We currently have a
mailing list of more than 7,000 members.
Additionally, we organize and lead corporate
volunteer projects for companies of all sizes.
Boston Cares is a member of the Hands On Network, an
alliance of volunteer organizations working to
transform individuals and communities through
service and civic engagement, with affiliates in 55
US and international locations.
