Just for Fun: Free Wednesday Nights at the Museum of Fine Arts

The original Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) opened its doors to the public on July 4, 1876. Built in Copley Square, the MFA was then home to 5,600 works of art. Over the next several years, the collection and number of visitors grew exponentially, and in 1909 the Museum moved to its current home on Huntington Avenue. Today the MFA is one of the most comprehensive art museums in the world; the collection encompasses nearly 450,000 works of art. It welcomes more than one million visitors each year to experience art from ancient Egyptian to contemporary, special exhibitions, and innovative educational programs.

Join Boston Cares members for an evening at the MFA on its Free Wednesday night. Boston Cares volunteers will meet at the front entrance of the museum. This is a Just for Fun event, planned by the Boston Cares Action Network Social Committee, and there is no service component to this project. Instead, Boston Cares members will be able to enjoy the MFA with the company of other members.

T-Accessible, Green "E" Line (Museum of Fine Arts).

This project is reserved for Boston Cares members who have attended an orientation.
