High School Equivalency Literacy Tutoring at X-Cel Education (Roxbury)

Try your hand at teaching. Join X-Cel for an evening of tutoring adults from all different cultures and levels of reading proficiency. If you graduated from high school, you already have the knowledge to teach these eager-to-learn adults. No previous teaching experience necessary.

Covid-19 Safety, All volunteers, students, and staff members are required to wear face masks the entire time they are inside the building. There is a limit of 6 students in each classroom. Desks are spaced ten feet apart. All work is done and submitted on laptop computers. Instruction is done from a distance, using a whiteboard. All desks, laptops, and chairs are disinfected between sessions.

X-Cel Education was founded in 2000 by two adult educators with the vision of providing quality adult education services to residents of Greater Boston. X-Cel’s mission is to make high school completion, post-secondary study, and sustainable career paths more accessible to underserved communities in Greater Boston, by providing flexible, customized instruction and career readiness development at no cost in convenient community locations. Each X-Cel center is in need of some crucial supplies to help them provide the best learning environment to their students. Please consider donating the following items: 1-1/2" Three Ring Binders, Folders, Pencils, Erasers, Calculators - TI-30XS ONLY [This is the specific calculator used in HSE exams]
