Morning Meal Preperation @ Pine St. Inn

Pine Street Inn
The mission of Pine Street Inn is to be a community of respect and hope for each guest it serves; to be a resource through which neighbors and friends can help to meet the basic needs of others; and to serve as a national leader in the fight to end homelessness.

Pine Street’s programs include:

Permanent Supportive Housing – More than 800 formerly homeless individuals live in 37 residences that are either owned or managed by Pine Street Inn. The program for tenants is a supportive housing model – permanent, affordable housing coupled with on-site support staff to help individuals regain their highest level of independence. Our current data indicates that 85% percent of those placed in Pine Street supportive housing have not returned to homelessness.

Emergency Shelter - each night, more than 730 men and women are provided with emergency or transitional shelter at one of Pine Street’s four locations. The Inn offers food, clothing, health care, and case management services including substance abuse treatment and psychiatric support to all guests of the Inn. Last year we served 10,000 unduplicated individuals.

Workforce Development and Social Ventures – Pine Street provides job training in two areas--food services, and building maintenance, providing individuals with skills and job placement services. Approximately 100 individuals complete these programs each year.

Street Outreach - Pine Street’s outreach teams travel throughout Greater Boston to offer food, blankets, health care, and referrals to approximately 150 unsheltered men and women daily. Pine    is currently the only organization offering outreach in Boston every night.

Today, Pine Street Inn serves over 1,600 individuals a day. From emergency services, needs assessment and case management, to job training and placement in permanent supportive housing, Pine Street Inn is providing the short- and long-term remedies to end the experience of homelessness.
