Opportunity Details

Salem Jazz & Soul Festival

Volunteering with the Salem Jazz and Soul Festival is a unique opportunity to help a nearly decade old festival operate from start to finish! With support from community volunteers and sponsors the volunteer run board of directors works tirelessly throughout the season and off season to arrange a spectacular festival season line up to host its annual FREE music series. First SJSF hosts the Berklee Summer Series which runs on the second Saturday of each month from May through August and then the much anticipated Main Festival schedule on the second weekend in August.

Volunteers are needed to assist with every function of the festival including setting up tents, gear, signs, merchandise, children’s activities while also working security, Beer garden sales, Merchandise sales, VIP and sponsor tables and of course interfacing with patrons of the festival. You'll perform all our tasks while listening to some of the best jazz, soul, and funk music around.

This project is reserved for Boston Cares members who have attended an orientation.

Commuter Rail Accessible: Salem Station on the Newburyport and Rockport train with an aproximate 2 mile walk to the park.
