Opportunity Details

Prepare and Distribute Thanksgiving Baskets at Elizabeth Peabody House

First shift volunteers  will be setting up the space for efficient distribution, unloading baskets into the space, and making/distributing snacks to anyone waiting in line. Second and third shifts will give out the Thanksgiving baskets with turkeys and all the trimmings, track distribution, and assist with clean-up. 

All volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather as they will be in and outdoors when assisting clients with items; be sure to wear sneakers or work boots (no open-toed shoes or sandals, please). Volunteers should be able to comfortably lift at least 15 lbs. 15 years or older, please!

Please be sure to knock loudly on the door so that you will be let in promptly

This opportunity is open to Boston Cares members who have attended an orientation. 

T-Accessible, Orange line + Bus. 


About the Elizabeth Peabody Food Pantry:
The EPH Food Pantry provides emergency food services on a weekly basis to individuals who reside in Somerville.  Utilizing a volunteer-to-client "shopping" system, our pantry allows clients to choose their own items from our available selection of fresh and shelf-stable foods.
