Family Volunteer Day: Toddler Beds Build (Ages 15+)
Come out and make a difference with families from all over the Greater Boston area! Volunteers and their families and friends will gather at the IUEC Local 4 (International Union of Elevator Constructors) building in Dorchester* to participate in the nation-wide Family Volunteer Day program hosted by the HandsOn Network and sponsored by Disney.
Family Volunteer Day will be jam packed with fun times and community involvement. There will be one session from 10am-12pm.
Participants will build toddler beds which will be donated to children transitioning out of family shelters all around Greater Boston. The bed build project is open to volunteers ages 15+, but younger volunteers are encouraged to sign up to create Bedtime Dream Kits including dream catchers and dream journals, which will then donated along with the toddler beds.
Volunteers ages 5+ who are interested in signing up to create Bedtime Dream Kits at the Family Volunteer Day event can sign up to do so here.
Family Friendly, Ages 15+. If you are at least 15 years old and have registered with Boston Cares, you may sign up and attend this project on your own.
This project is open to the public, and attendance at a New Volunteer Orientation is NOT required in order to participate.
Groups of volunteers must sign up with at least 1 adult volunteer (age 18+) for every 2 youth volunteers (ages 17 and under).
All volunteers under 18 years old must bring a Permission Form signed by a parent or guardian to give to the Volunteer Leader at registration.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: The actual event will NOT be held at 50 Park Street. Once you have arrived at 50 Park Street, turn onto Mapes Street and follow for about 1/4 mile. The IUEC Local 4 building will be on your left. Plenty of parking is available. The location is less than a 10-minute walk from the Fields Corner Red Line MBTA station.
