GYSD 2015: Assemble Food Bags for Distribution at the American Red Cross Pantry

Are you under the age of 25, or volunteering with a youth who is?  Join us for Global Youth Service Day 2015! The project below is a great opportunity for youth ages 15+ to engage in service and participate in this special day of youth service.   Don't forget to share your service experience with us on social media #GYSD2015 and @BostonCares!

Volunteers will help distribute food to clients, prepare bags of perishable items for distribution, and pack food bags for the next distribution date. 

All volunteers are REQUIRED to wear sturdy shoes or sneakers. For safety reasons no open-open toed shoes or sandals will be allowed in the warehouse.

Youth Friendly, 15+. All volunteers under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult over 18 years old. All volunteers under 18 years old must bring a Permission Form signed by a parent or guardian to give to the Project Leader. This project is reserved for Boston Cares members who have attended an orientation.

*Due to construction taking place on Procter St., parking is limited. There are limited parking spaces behind the Red Cross Food Pantry. (10/31/13)
 

About the American Red Cross Pantry:
The American Red Cross works to provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. The Boston Food Pantry provides a 3-day supply of emergency food to 4,500 low-income clients per month.
