ESOL Conversation Group Assistants

 

Come volunteer as an informal ESOL Conversation Group assistant at Gilbert Albert Community Center! Work with refugees and new community members who are looking to improve their English language skills! Volunteers will work in small groups or one-on-one with the adult learners to help them practice speaking English in an informal setting. Volunteers must also be culturally sensitive! 

T-Accesible: Fairmont Line Commuter Rail (South Station) to Four Corners/Geneva Ave Stop or Red Line (Ashmont) + Bus 23 or Orange Line (Forest Hills) + Bus 16 


This volunteer opportunity is reserved for Boston Cares members who have attended an orientation!



About Gilbert Albert Community Center:

Since the Gilbert Albert Community Center (GACC) was established in 2005, our mission has been to educate immigrant populations in the Greater Boston area with the knowledge that education will promote a healthy, vibrant, and flourishing community . The Gilbert Albert Community Center is aware of the sociolinguistic barriers that affect local immigrant populations and threaten to damage individual and communal relationships, as well as cross-cultural development, and seeks to overcome these barriers through ESL courses, access to social services, and programming that promotes healthy lifestyles.
