Boston Summer Arts Walk

The Boston Summer Arts Walk along Newbury Street in the Back Bay will be held on Thursday, July 23 from 5-8 pm. Guests will enjoy refreshments, hors d'oeuvres, live local music, and art demonstrations at 14 participating galleries along Boston's famed Newbury Street. Each stop will feature a generously donated piece of art and display other works by local artists. Summer Arts Walk attendees will have a chance to meet some of these artists and an opportunity to purchase select donated pieces to support WGBH. 

Positions Available: 

Art Associate: Greet and welcome guests; encourage door prize contest entry via completion of a brief enter-to-win form and talk up prizes; distribute Summer Arts Walk maps; point visitors to WGBH artwork within the gallery; and answer questions as needed. If a guest would like to purchase a WGBH piece, the Art Associate will call for a WGBH staff member to process the transaction. There will be two Art Associates at each gallery and volunteers must be 21+ years of age to participate.

Volunteer Photographer: Take pictures of Summer Arts Walk activities along Newbury Street and within galleries. In order to be considered for this position, please send sample photos to Volunteer Manager, Jaime Reese, at jaime_reese@wgbh.org.

Volunteer Photographer’s Note Taker: Ensures that at least one person “posing” for a group photo provides legible contact information and signs an appearance release form, authorizing WGBH to use the photo in future communications. Assistants must also take down each person’s descriptions so we can match photos to release forms after the event.
