Play with Cats and Clean up at the Gifford Cat Shelter
Calling all animal lovers! Spend your morning playing with cats while helping to clean up the shelter at the Gifford Cat Shelter. Volunteers will help with tasks such as refilling food and water, cleaning surfaces, and most importantly playing with the cats to help them socialize.
Morning volunteers help the Gifford Cat Shelter with many of their most important tasks, including direct cat care such as providing food and water, scooping litter, sweeping, disinfecting, laundry, and other duties. Indirect cat care and administrative tasks may also be assigned.
They are looking for hardworking and reliable people between the hours of 8–10am, any day of the week (including Saturdays & Sundays)!
Many volunteer tasks require moderate physical exercise, so please be sure you understand and are comfortable with the physical needs. Long pants and closed toed shoes are required.
Attend an upcoming training in June and get started today! Volunteers must be prepared to make a minimum 6-month commitment and the minimum age to volunteer is 18.

About the Gifford Cat Shelter:
The mission of Gifford Cat Shelter is to provide a safe haven for abandoned, stray, abused, neglected, unwanted and injured cats with the goal of re-homing and ending the needless killing of community and companion cats. Founded in 1884 and sponsored by Ellen Gifford, the shelter was a pioneer in creating an environment that did not confine animals to small, movement-restricting cages.
