Save and Share food with Rescuing Leftover Cuisine
The mission at Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, Inc. is to stop food waste and help feed the hungry. Volunteers simply meet at the partner restaurant (Pret A Manager at 185 Franklin Street Boston) to pick up the leftover food. They then carry the food to the donation site (St, Francis House Shelter, 39 Boylston Street Boston). Volunteers assist the restaurant employees with packing the food. It is helpful to bring packing materials, i.e. garbage bags or paper grocery bags. One large bag is provided by restaurant. Volunteers should be prepared to walk about half a mile carrying food (the weight of food is generally light). MBTA Accesible: Orange Line, Red Line (Downtown Crossing) This project is reserved for Boston Cares members who have attended an orientation.
