Youth Special Needs Ice Skating with Newton Parks and Recreation
The Newton Parks and Recreation Department offers exciting community -based therapeutic recreation programs to residents with disabilities. Programs are offered to provide and encourage physical, social, emotional and intellectual development.
Come teach ice skating to youth and adults with disabilities!
Volunteer must have their own skates and be comfortable with their own skating skills on the ice.
*Important: There is no skate rental at the rink, volunteers must bring their own skates.*
Youth-Friendly, 13+. All volunteers under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult over 18 years old.
Transportation is not provided, however there is parking available. If you have transportation concerns, contact the Project Leader listed below, and he/she will see if a carpool can be arranged with the other volunteers.
This project is reserved for Boston Cares members who have attended an orientation.
All volunteers under 18 years old must bring a Permission Form signed by a parent or guardian to give to the Project Leader.
