Express New Volunteer Orientation and Project: Childcare at Jeremiah-Endicott

*PLEASE NOTE: This opportunity is for NEW VOLUNTEERS ONLY (those who have NOT previously attended an Orientation). If you are already an active volunteer and would like to volunteer at Boston Living Center, please click here*

Boston Cares is a flexible volunteer agency that connects individuals with volunteer opportunities throughout Greater Boston. To become a Boston Cares member and begin signing up for projects online, you must attend a brief, one-time New Volunteer Orientation.

By signing up for this Express Orientation, you will be able to attend an accelerated orientation immediately followed by a volunteer project. This gives you the opportunity to learn about Boston Cares, meet fellow volunteers, and start volunteering right away!

The accelerated orientation will cover important information about Boston Cares, our community partners and walk you through how to sign up for volunteer projects on our Calendar.

About the Jeremiah-Endicott Program:

Jeremiah’s proven, holistic approach begins with establishing a supportive community for determined single mothers to pursue a career-track college education. Through a combination of quality early childhood education, a safe and affordable place to live, and empowerment and life skills training, families find stability and a path out of poverty.

Low-income single moms interested in the Jeremiah-Endicott Program will be attending an orientation and their children will need some love and care and play while they wait for their moms! Volunteers are asked to help with dinner, homework, and keeping kids safe and happy while their moms are meeting. Light clean up help afterwards will also be needed.
Volunteers should be ready to run around and play with kids of all ages!

Please note that Boston Cares collects a one-time registration fee from all new members. The registration fee is used to cover the costs associated with managing volunteer projects. The fee will be collected at your New Volunteer Orientation session, and can be paid using cash (exact change only), check (made out to Boston Cares) or a credit card.
The registration fee structure is:

-$25 for individual members (exact change ONLY)

-$40 for families

-$15 for students, seniors and unemployed

-Fee waived for active AmeriCorps volunteers and Middle, & High Schoolers.
