Serve Breakfast at the East Boston Community Soup Kitchen
By providing nutritious and satisfying weekly meals, the East Boston Community Soup Kitchen strives to create a safe, clean, welcoming environment for all who face hunger and homelessness in East Boston. Each Tuesday from 8:30AM to 7:30PM, volunteers serve breakfast, lunch and dinner; clean and organize the kitchen area after each meal; and support an uplifting environment for guests.
There is a high need for help during the breakfast service help so volunteers will help out serving food, washing dishes, and preparing the meals.
MBTA Accessible: Blue Line (Maverick Station)
This project is open to any volunteers who have attended a Boston Cares orientation.
About the East Boston Community Soup Kitchen:
Located in the heart of East Boston's Maverick Square, the East Boston Community Soup Kitchen is a new destination for those hungry for nourishment and community. The Soup Kitchen opens every Tuesday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner offering free meals to all those who enter its doors. This organization is fueled by volunteer power and love for our neighbors. Our mission is also to provide a sense of community for all of those persons affected by hunger on a daily basis and to offer a humane and compassionate response from the real world.
