I Build TeamWorks Team with Tutoring Plus

October 11 – November 15 | Thursdays | 5:30PM - 7PM| 

I Build is based on the Museum of Science “Engineering Everywhere” curriculum and is an eight week project-based learning program for 11-15 year old students. This program teaches students the engineering design process and involves weekly hands-on projects. Last year’s program closed with a field trip to the MIT D-Lab.

TeamWorks Volunteers will support the class weekly on Thursdays as classroom support and co-teachers. 

In addition to committing to the short term weekly course, TeamWorks team members will be required to attend the team orienation with Tutoring Plus, and will be require to complete a CORI background check.

About Tutoring Plus:

Tutoring Plus advances educational equity by supporting youth in their academic, personal and social growth through free, individualized tutoring, mentoring and enrichment programs. Tutoring Plus is one of the longest-running out-of-school time academic programs for Cambridge students. In 1964, a group of mothers in the Port neighborhood seeking academic support for their children reached out to MIT students. What began as tutoring sessions at kitchen tables has grown to a center-based model that serves about 175 students in grades 4-12 each year with the support of nearly 150 volunteers from the community.
