Help with GBNCC Food Pantry

The health and safety of our volunteers, Volunteer Leaders, and the people we serve is our top priority. We are working with our Community Partners to ensure that state & city guidance is followed to slow the spread of COVID-19. Read about our Safety Requirements.

About the organization: The goal of the Greater Boston Nazarene Compassionate Center (GBNCC) is to provide relief and opportunity to the most vulnerable, distressed and underprivileged, undeserved, under-represented people of the greater Boston area, with a particular emphasis on the Haitian community, immigrants and youth in Mattapan, Dorchester and vicinity.

In partnership with the Greater Boston Food Bank, Greater Boston Nazarene Compassion Center (GBNCC), distributes more than 7,000 pounds of food each week to families in need. This partnership allows for the food pantry to serve over 3,600 community members monthly in the Greater Boston area.

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, volunteers will unload food donations from the delivery truck to stock the pantry. Note: this project involves lifting 30-50lbs and volunteers may need to work with a partner to carry heavy boxes.

Wednesday and Friday mornings, volunteers will support the pantry by breaking down boxes and distributing food to individuals and families.

GBNCC has some masks and gloves in supply but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own.
