Assemble "Grab and Grow Kits" for BPS Students and Families
Help Boston Public Schools pack 6,000 "Grab and Grow" planting kits. Each kit will contain mini-pots, "soil", seeds, instructions into brown paper lunch bags sealed with logo/sticker for distribution to Boston school students at 37 summer meal sites across the City.
These kits support a grant program help to promote increasing procurement and consumption of fresh New England grown food for school meals. Students will take these kits home and be able to grow their own fresh herbs to help them learn nutritious healthy eating from their own home!
Volunteers will gather at the BPS Distribution center to assemble kits please bring your own face covering, masks and gloves will also be provided. Social distancing measures will be enforced to keep volunteers safe. PPE and sanitizing equipment will also be provided for added protection.
Parking/location: located in Dorchester, near several bus lines including #17 and #16, parking is available and easily accessible.
Please note that this project will take place outdoors, to help ensure better social distancing takes place.
