Mobile Pantry Distribution with Greater Boston Food Bank at the Trotter School
GBFB acquires food through food industry product donations, food drives and financial contributions that enable us to purchase additional high nutrient quality food.
Our new direct distribution initiatives provide an excellent opportunity for groups of volunteers to fight hunger in high-need communities. Volunteers may be asked to: help set up a diverse selection of fresh produce, staple items, and high-quality frozen meats in the style of a farmer's market. Volunteers then assist individuals and families as they choose from among these nutritious food items in a school or a community setting.
The location for this Opportunity is the Trotter School in Dorchester.
KF, 14+. All volunteers under 18 years old must bring a Permission Form signed by a parent or guardian to give to the Project Leader. Additionally, all volunteers under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult over 18.
This project is reserved for Boston Cares members who have attended an orientation.
