Stock Food at the Elizabeth Peabody House Food Pantry
During this volunteer opportunity, the EPH Food Pantry coordinator and volunteers travel via van to the Greater Boston Food Bank to pick up our weekly food order.
Volunteers are asked to arrive at the Elizabeth Peabody House Food Pantry office building (275 Broadway, a pink house building) by 9:30am and leave with the coordinator by 9:40am. Please be sure to ring the doorbell so that you will be let in promptly! Activities include loading up and unloading the van followed by stocking the EPH pantry.
The EPH food pantry coordinator is the acting volunteer leader for this Boston Cares volunteer opportunity.
All volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather as they will be in and outdoors when transporting items; be sure to wear sneakers or work boots (no open-toed shoes or sandals, please). Gloves can be handy, especially in the colder months. Volunteers should be able to comfortably lift at least 25 lbs.
Volunteers are essential for this project and attendnace is expected. Please make sure you are able to attend before you sign up!
This opportunity is open to Boston Cares members who have attended an orientation.
