D.A.R.T. Introduction to Emergency Response 101

D.A.R.T.'s Introduction to Emergency Response focuses on the techniques, equipment, and structures of real-world rescue operations. Students will receive overview instruction on the fundamentals of rescue, including situational awareness, safety, preparation, infiltration, extrication of victims, triage, and emergency medical treatment.  Live simulations are used to demonstrate proper equipment use and techniques, allowing students the chance to experience actual rescue operation requirements and skill sets.



If you are new to Boston Cares D.A.R.T., or just interested in joining, this course is highly recommended.

 

If you have taken this course before, you are more than welcomed to come refresh and mingle!

Please note that full participation in this training is physical in nature and participants will be expected to self select in or out of activities based on their own ability.

This project is reserved for Boston Cares members who have attended an orientation.

About the instructor: 

Will Lysz has spent the last 10 years in the rescue response community.  He has trained with fire and rescue agencies along the eastern seaboard, most recently with the Raleigh Fire Department's Keeter Fire Training Center command staff and instructors.  During his time in Raleigh, he served as the Vice President of the Wake County CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) as well as several years as their lead instructor.  He has held several local ICS, SUSAR, and IAFF-recognized certifications and continues to work with teams nationally.
