Holiday TeamWorks 2017: Holiday Sampler
Interested in volunteering at a variety of fun and impactful Boston Cares calendar sites this upcoming holiday season?
Boston Cares TeamWorks Program focuses on facilitating the shift from casual volunteering to intentional citizenship. Participation includes serving with a team of 6-12 individuals on a series of three to five projects, with various organizations. As a team, you will learn about specific issues, organizations, and communities through volunteerism and service learning. Read below for more information about this specific team:

Holiday Card Making for Ethos @ Boston Cares
Description: Ethos is a local nonprofit, working to keep seniors living at home with dignity and independence. We will host volunteers to craft and write cards for these seniors! Let your crafty creativity shine!

Children’s Holiday Party @ DotHouse Health
Description: The event is attended by over 700 community children ages 1 - 10 y.o., and their families. Each child has a visit with Santa, where they receive a wrapped gift. Volunteers will be assisting with set up and break down, individual games and activities, serving snacks, crowd control and Santa helpers.

Help Usher at the Boston Cecilia
Description: The Boston Cecilia stands among America's oldest and finest performing arts organizations. Under the leadership of Donald Teeters, Cecilia has an established reputation for its period-instrument performances of baroque music, especially the oratorios of Handel and works of Bach. Boston Volunteer ushers are needed to distribute programs, help concert-goers find their seats, and help at the will-call table.

Usher at Musica Sacra’s Holiday Concert
Description: Since 1959, Musica Sacra has been performing choral music with the highest standards of musical excellence and a breathtaking sound. Musica Sacra needs friendly volunteer ushers and ticket-takers for the concert.

Cook for the Critically Ill @ Community Servings
Description:Join the Community Servings chefs in the kitchen preparing food for the critically ill. Volunteers will help the staff slice, chop, cook, assemble, and package meals for individuals and families battling HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, or other life-threatening illnesses.
Volunteers must wear shirts with sleeves, long pants (no leggings), a hat and shoes that completely cover the foot. Volunteers must also be in good health to assist in the kitchen. Even common colds can pose a risk to clients.
