MLK 2025: Jamaica Plain - Help at the Front Desk at Ellis Early Learning

***Each individual, regardless of age, will need to be registered. If you are under 13 or want to volunteer with someone under the age of 13, please email volunteers@bostoncares.org with name, date of birth, best parent/guardian contact, and the opportunity you would like to sign up for to get an account created for them and all set to volunteer! 

Ellis Early Learning is a non-profit founded in 1885. We strive to give excellent education care without regard to their family circumstances. We serve 236 children (ages 2 months to 5 years) in three different locations: two buildings in the South End and one center in Jamaica Plain. 65% of our families are subsidized, and 25% of the with a DCF case open. 

Volunteers will stay at the front desk helping parents and teachers to come into the building, monitoring that the rules are followed. The volunteers are allowed to bring their own computers if they need to work during the hour. Please come dressed in comfortable and appropriate clothing for work with children and closed-toe shoes. 

If the volunteers want to help more than two times, the Early Education and Care Department (EEC) requires that they have to undergo a background and fingerprint check.
