Commonwealth Shakespeare Company Gala Volunteers

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) is dedicated to artistic excellence, accessibility, and education. We present plays of the highest artistic caliber that celebrate ideas and language to create dialogue around compelling issues of our time. We eliminate barriers – physical, economic, and cultural – to bring live theater to audiences throughout Greater Boston. We cultivate in young artists the value of community engagement, and collaborate with educators to bring literature to life in the classroom.

Join CSC as a volunteer for our 2025 Gala: The Arden Party! Responsibilities include: Greeters at hotel entrances to guide guests, ushers to help guests find their tables, check in table to make note of who has arrived, cocktail hour breakdown to setup for the after party, Fund-A-Need helpers to assist with handing out remit slips and/or assisting in taking note of bidders for an auction. Other duties will arise as the evening progresses!

Many volunteers will be on their feet for the majority of the evening. Some responsibilities can be seated, but not all. There will be opportunities for breaks. With setup and breakdown of rooms there might be some lifting or carrying, but it will not be required! Most of these responsibilities are patron facing, so looking for volunteers who are comfortable around people, outgoing, and adaptable!

Please note: The dress code for this gala is "Creative Black Tie" and volunteers will be asked to dress as closely to that as they are able. For example full length dresses/skirts, suits, or black formalwear. With the amount of standing and walking we recommend comfortable footwear!

MBTA Accessibility: Arlington (Green Line), Park Street (Red Line), and Back Bay (Orange Line)

At Boston Cares, we recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental values that guide our mission and work. Boston Cares is committed to creating a community where everyone is valued, respected, and can come and participate as their authentic selves. We expect that all volunteers and partners join us in promoting a safe and supportive space for everyone.
