Nazareth Residence for Mothers and Children (CCAB)http://www.ccab.org
MISSION The mission of the Nazareth Residence is to provide shelter, supportive and preventative services, education, and interim care and shelter to the children and families most in need, without distinction of race, creed, or color and to advocate for children and families in a spirit of justice. DESCRIPTION The Nazareth Residence for Women and Children is a caring, home-like, supportive transitional housing program for mothers and their children who are HIV positive or living with AIDS, and are homeless. The Nazareth Residence was originally created as housing for the orphans of Irish soldiers who died in the Civil War. It has continued to serve the Boston community changing its focus as times required. The facility can house eight to ten families for up to two years each. Residents must be clean and sober for at least thirty days prior to entering the program. Services offered to residents include fully furnished living facilities, 24 hour on-site staff, substance abuse counseling, mental health counseling and parenting groups.
