ABOUT BOSTON CARES SERVICEWORKS

Boston Cares ServiceWorks is a youth engagement program. Through ServiceWorks, we partner with youth organizations in the Boston area and offer a unique curriculum designed to engage young people aged 16-24, whom we call “Service Scholars,” in community service. Through ServiceWorks, the Scholars gain critical leadership and workplace skills, strengthened networks and community connections AND the opportunity to apply those skills by volunteering and leading their own community service projects. The three pillars of the ServiceWorks program include skill building, volunteering, and success coaching.

VOLUNTEER WITH SERVICEWORKS

As a ServiceWorks volunteer, you would deliver the curriculum, facilitate discussion, and assist in the planning and execution of the service project. ServiceWorks may be delivered in several different models, but it generally requires approximately two hours per week of its volunteers. No prior experience with teaching or youth programming is required, though we hope to recruit volunteers who are excited about the prospect of working with young people, and are able to connect individually with scholars as well as keep a classroom full of them engaged in the curriculum.
The opportunity date and time you are looking for is no longer available.
