Community Conversations: Immigrant Community Needs in Boston

Community Conversations is a space for volunteers to deepen their understanding of issues in the Greater Boston Community.

Join Boston Cares, MIRA and Gilbert Albert Community Center for an in-depth look at the needs of immigrant communities in Boston.

The Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA) is the largest organization in New England promoting the rights and integration of immigrants and refugees. MIRA serves the Commonwealth's one million foreign-born residents with policy analysis and advocacy, institutional organizing, training and leadership development, strategic communications, citizenship assistance, and AmeriCorps initiatives that provide capacity-building for community-based organizations.

Gilbert Albert Community Center (GACC) is located in the Four Corners area of Dorchester, and provides the surrounding community with a variety of services from ESL and computer classes, to programs that promote healthy living. Hear from our guest speaker, Luidgi Lalanne, about the diverse community GACC serves and what you can do to help!
