CSO Presents Beginnings
The Cambridge Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1975 by Harriet Fierman, Gertrude Spiller, and Rachel Spiller as a community music organization (originally the “Little Orchestra of Cambridge”). Since then, the CSO has been and continues to be a home for committed and skilled musicians who believe in the importance of our mission: to make great music accessible to diverse audiences and to harness the power of music to forge lasting relationships with our community.
Join the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra (CSO) as a volunteer. This vital role helps bring the music to life for all to enjoy. Front of House volunteers will assist with the pre-performance, and post-performance operations. This includes collecting tickets, distributing programs, and crowd management. After the show, volunteers will assist with the orderly departure of the audience. Volunteers are welcome to attend the performance. All CSO volunteer opportunities are indoors, have accessible bathrooms, and water fountains. We ask that our volunteers wear business casual clothing, and all black attire is preferred.
Volunteers will be supporting live performance by assisting audience members to feel welcome and part of a wider arts-loving community in Greater Boston.
MBTA Accessibility: 1 minute walk from MBTA 1 Bus, 15 minute walk MBTA Red Line Kendall/MIT, metered street parking, nearby public parking lots.
At Boston Cares, we recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental values that guide our mission and work. Boston Cares is committed to creating a community where everyone is valued, respected, and can come and participate as their authentic selves. We expect that all volunteers and partners join us in promoting a safe and supportive space for everyone.
