Organization Profile

VISION: One day all parents will have the resources they need to unlock their families' potential and become champions for babies and their community. MISSION: We offer structured coaching, material goods, and community connections to support parents as they activate their natural strengths and expand their knowledge, so children thrive from the start. WHAT WE DO: Did you know that the first three years of a child's life are the most critical period for brain development? Despite this, service gaps for low-income families are largest in the early years, before families encounter the pre-K and the K-12 education system. However, research also shows that support provided during these critical earliest years has the biggest impact on life-long health, wellness, education, and income. At Room to Grow, we support low-income families with babies aged zero to three through a unique preventative three-year program model. Parents visit Room to Grow every three months, starting from the mother's third trimester of pregnancy and then throughout the baby's first three years of life. At each visit, our clinicians help families navigate the challenges and celebrate the joys of parenting. This includes discussing developmental stages, offering strategies to recognize and respond to their child's many needs, and providing resources and support to help cope with raising a child in typically stressful circumstances. At every visit, parents also receive age-appropriate material necessities, allowing them to provide fully for their baby in an immediate and meaningful way.
