Tuesdays with Roses - Rose Gardening with the Emerald Necklace Conservancy
Volunteers are needed to prune, deadhead, weed, and care for the roses in the Kelleher Rose Garden, in the Back Bay Fens. Rosarians will be on hand to train and demonstrate rose care. Please bring your own water bottle and wear clothes that can get dirty. (Long pants and long sleeves recommended.) As always, newcomers are welcome.
This is a unique opportunity to learn gardening techniques while helping to maintain and beautify one of the jewels of the Emerald Necklace.
Youth friendly, 5+. All volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult and all under 18 years old must bring a Permission Form signed by a parent or guardian to give to the Project Leader. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 617-422-0910 x208 if you would like to bring youth to this project.
This project is reserved for Boston Cares members who have attended an orientation.
T-Accessible, Green "E" Line (Museum of Fine Arts).
The Emerald Necklace Conservancy is a private non-profit stewardship organization founded in 1998 to maintain, restore, and protect the 1,100 acres of the Emerald Necklace Parks. Its volunteer activities complement the longstanding initiatives of its public partners (Boston Parks & Recreation Department, Brookline Parks and Open Space and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation) in the Back Bay Fens, the Riverway, Olmsted Park, Jamaica Pond, and Franklin Park.
