Cleaning and Organizing at the Democracy Center!
The Democracy Center works to foster a more vibrant local and global democracy by supporting more sustainable, united and stronger communities of action; they do this by offering material resources, mostly meeting and office space, to grassroots organizations. Volunteers are needed to help keep the building clean and organized for the hundreds of guests they have weekly. Volunteers will help with tasks such as cleaning, mopping, sweeping, doing dishes, and other tasks to keep the building tidy and comfortable for guests. Volunteers will be given an overview and tour before rolling up their sleeves and getting to work! This project is fairly self-directed and is best for volunteers who feel confident in their ability to follow directions without close supervision. Volunteers will need to stand, walk, and go up and down stairs. Some light lifting may be required. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle! MBTA Accesible: Short walk from the Red Line (Harvard Square) and also bus (66, 86, 77, 96 and more) *Street parking is very limited so public transportation is highly recommended!
