Help at Boston Landmarks Orchestra Outdoor Concerts

There are a variety of tasks for volunteers before and after the concert each evening. Volunteers can expect to do some or all of the following: help with virtual programs (QR scanning codes), manage the Info table, assist people with lawn chairs, assist those with limited mobility, take survey of audience zip codes, collect donations, help pack up. Often there are other tasks that come up during the evening as well!

Please note: Volunteers will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time and ability to lift lawn chairs. Volunteers should also be prepared with sunscreen and/or bug spray if needed since the concert is outdoors. Some light snacks will be provided, but volunteers should plan on eating before the concert, or bring a picnic dinner. Volunteers will also be given a Volunteer lanyard. Please wear black if possible.

Days can be really hot as concerts are outside. We advise all volunteers to make sure to hydrate. Inside the Hatch is air-conditioned so we advise volunteers to seek manager to take cool-down breaks when needed. Volunteers can store their belongings at the volunteer table, but please do not bring valuables unless they are kept on you at all times (wallets, cell phones, etc...).

Please meet at the info tent located next to the Hatch. Parking is not prohibited except for musicians, but is T accessible and there is limited parking available at nearby garages. Red Line (Charles Street/MGH Station). Walking distance from the station to the Esplanade: 2,480 feet (about 1/2 mile) Take the Frances Appleton Bridge and walk the path towards the Hatch Memorial Shell. Walking time is about 9min.
