Help Organize Boston Public School Libraries!
Help organize Boston Public School Libraries! Volunteers will be moving, sorting and organizing books back onto the shelves following the Dewey Decimal System. Volunteers may also scan books into the online library system or re-cover books with plastic covers. Some lifting may be required. Upcoming Dates: 4/1/20 will be at the Joseph P. Manning School in Jamaica Plain which is accessible by bus line 38. The 3/16/20 and 3/24/20 dates will be at the Mario Umana Academy in East Boston which is accessible by the blue line. The 3/6/20 and 3/20/20 dates will be at the Henderson Upper School in Dorchester which is accessible by the red line. 3/26/20 will be at the Oliver Wendall Holmes School in Dorchester which is accessible by the red line. There will be some available on-street parking. Boston Public Schools Library Services provides centralized support for Boston Public School communities and Library Team members as well as central leadership to schools and departments to ensure that library media centers play a core role in achieving academic targets. This is a fun and productive opportunity to help BPS schools get their libraries organized! NOTE: For some library sites, volunteers may be asked to fill out and submit a CORI background check form prior to volunteering. This will be coordinated by the volunteer leader.
