MLK Weekend 2021: 826 Boston Volunteer Training Session

Join us for an interactive session led by 826 Boston’s Volunteer Engagement Specialists to learn more about their organization and how you can get involved.

826 Boston is a nonprofit youth writing and publishing organization that empowers traditionally underserved students ages 6-18 to find their voices, tell their stories, and gain communication skills to succeed in school and in life.

During the session on Monday January 18th from 3-4 pm, volunteers will learn more about 826 Boston’s virtual volunteer opportunities, and how you can help support students to express their ideas creatively, confidently, and in their own voices.

Volunteers looking to engage with 826’s volunteer programming will be required to complete a background check and attend an upcoming tutor training before serving.

826 Boston is able to offer virtual volunteer opportunities to volunteers ages 16+. High School volunteers will also need to complete an assessment task to determine tutoring subjects before joining the 826 Boston volunteer team as a tutor.

*Volunteers under the age of 18 must submit a completed Parent Guardian Form and email it to volunteers@bostoncares.org by Wednesday, January 13th to participate.
