Building Prevention and Safety Kits with Victory Programs
Victory Programs has helped individuals and families in crisis for 50 years. Some 5,250 people turn to us yearly for shelter, sustenance, recovery, care, and professional, compassionate support. The individuals and families we serve across our 25 programs are unhoused or precariously housed, most of whom struggle with substance use, have mental health concerns, and/or live with chronic health issues like HIV/AIDS. Volunteers will work with the Victory Programs' prevention team. This team provides a wide array of prevention-based services for our members with the goal of offering them the tools and resources to improve their health, acquire housing, and work towards a happier and healthier future. The kits that volunteers assemble can include Narcan kits, first-aid kits, safer-injection kits, and others. The materials you pack in these kits can be life-saving, help prevent the spread of infectious diseases, and give our members the tools they need to take control of their health and safety. IMPORTANT! Please review the following information before your first time volunteering with Victory Programs: - Victory Overview - Volunteer Boundaries - Thank You Letter - VPI 2025 Impact Report - Connector Overview At Boston Cares, we recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental values that guide our mission and work. Boston Cares is committed to creating a community where everyone is valued, respected, and can come and participate as their authentic selves. We expect that all volunteers and partners join us in promoting a safe and supportive space for everyone.
