Prepare and Package Meals for the Critically Ill at Community Servings
The health and safety of our volunteers, Volunteer Leaders, and the people we serve is our top priority. We are working with our Community Partners to ensure that state & city guidance is followed to slow the spread of COVID-19. Read about our Safety Requirements.
Community Servings provides home delivered, medically tailored meals to over 2300 individuals across MA. Volunteers assist our kitchen team in our commercial kitchen where we prepare and package all of our medically tailored client meals from scratch. We start the shift with a brief orientation, get everyone suited up in hairnets, aprons, and gloves, and then head to the kitchen to help out with chopping, peeling, packing, baking, etc.
Volunteers will help the staff slice, chop, cook, assemble, and package meals for individuals and families battling HIV/AIDS, cancer, multiple sclerosis, and other life-threatening illnesses.
Volunteers must wear shirts with long sleeves, long pants, and close toed shoes. Volunteers must also be in good health to assist in the kitchen.
Effective July 12, 2021 Community Servings requires all volunteers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. A member of their staff will check your vaccination card (hard copy or photo) upon arrival and make a note of your status. Please do not email or text photos of your vaccination card. If you are not fully vaccinated, or do not wish to share your status, we ask that you select a different volunteer opportunity.
