MLK Day 2023: Paint MLK Themed Murals
Volunteers will work to paint wooden murals. The murals will be outlined with pictures, quotes and other artistic representations of the legacy of Dr. King. Completed murals will be hung along the fence of Southwest Corridor Park, not far from one of Dr. King's residences from his time in Boston.
The Southwest Corridor Park is a 4.1 mile, linear park stretching from the Back Bay to Forest Hills. The park links South End, Back Bay, Roxbury and Jamaica Plain with a street-level, greenway. Recreational facilities include: 11 playgrounds, 2 spray pools, 7 basketball courts, 5 tennis courts, 2 street hockey rinks, 2 amphitheaters, and 6 miles of trails.
This event will take place alongside others at the Boston Latin School. Volunteers under 18 will need to bring a signed waiver from a parent or guardian. Waivers can be downloaded advance at https://www.bostoncares.org/youthforms
