Sustainable Garden Builds with Just Energy!

Join Boston Cares as we partner with Just Energy and CitySprouts to build sustainable garden beds at schools throughout Boston! If you have been waiting for a more hands on project -- these are for you! CitySprouts works to develop, implement and maintain beautiful, resource-rich school gardens in collaboration with public school communities. Integrated into the curriculum, CitySprouts gardens inspire teachers, students, and families with a deep, hands-on connection to the food cycle, sustainable agriculture, and the natural environment. CitySprouts is district wide in Cambridge and growing within the Boston Public School District. 
September 11th- The Donald McKay School
The Donald McKay School is filled with passionate educators who instill in their students in the McKay School’s Anchor Values of Respect, Effort, and Responsibility by supporting their Social/Emotional and Character Development through Responsive Classrooms and explicit Social/Emotional instruction. Due to the bilingual and multicultural makeup of the student population, the McKay School creates an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
Volunteers will:

• ​Build and install an accessibility ramp
• Build and plant raised garden beds
• Install a tool shed
• Create a stone dust pathways throughout the Garden
• General landscaping
