Become a Youth Financial Wellness Volunteer Coach with WMM!

Women's Money Matters aims to empower women and girls to improve their financial health to create a more secure future for their families and communities.

Become a volunteer financial wellness coach for the Life Launch Program in partnership with Mother Caroline Academy. We’re seeking dedicated volunteers to support 5th grade girls as they explore key financial skills through weekly lessons on saving, budgeting, spending, credit, and entrepreneurship. Volunteers will guide students through interactive activities, help build their confidence in making smart money decisions, and foster strong, supportive relationships—celebrating their growth along the way.

Experience mentoring youth or being bilingual is a welcome plus! Volunteers will need to sit in a classroom setting for the majority of this opportunity. Volunteers must be 14+ to participate.

Time committment: Volunteers will need to commit once a week on Wednesdays, 4:00-5:00PM, from January 7th- March 4th.

Location: 515 Blue Hill Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02121

Please note: A background check is required for all volunteers age 18 and older. This must be completed in person at Mother Caroline Academy, 515 Blue Hill Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02121. Volunteers will also be expected to commit on a weekly basis the duration of the program. This opportunity is for cis and trans women and girls, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in women centered spaces. To reduce barriers to participation, we offer a transportation stipend for volunteers which is distributed out based on attendance.

MBTA Line Accessibility: Fairmount Line Commuter Rail has nearby stations, Four Corners/Geneva and Talbot Avenue, then a short bus or walk. Mattapan Line and Red Line stations at Mattapan and Ashmont are relatively close via bus connections.

At Boston Cares, we recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental values that guide our mission and work. Boston Cares is committed to creating a community where everyone is valued, respected, and can come and participate as their authentic selves. We expect that all volunteers and partners join us in promoting a safe and supportive space for everyone.
