Become a Financial Wellness Coach for Elementary School Girls!
Women's Money Matters' mission is to empower women and girls to improve their financial health to create a more secure future for their families and communities.
This opportunity is in partnership with Greenhalge Elementary School where volunteers will be paired one-on-one with a participant and serve as a supportive coach throughout the Life Launch program. They attend weekly lessons together, help reinforce financial concepts such as earning, spending, saving, budgeting, credit, and goal setting, and support participants as they apply these skills to real-life situations. Volunteers build strong relationships, encourage confidence, provide accountability, and celebrate progress and achievements along the way. No financial or teaching experience is required—just a commitment to showing up, listening, and supporting participants as they work toward their goals.
Experience with education, elementary students, or bilingual skills are a plus!
Please note: This opportunity is open to cis and trans women, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centers on the experiences of women and girls. We would love to get other students in the community involved. There will be a transportation stipend given based on attendance. Volunteers must be 14+ to participate.
Time committment: Volunteers will be expected to commit on a weekly basis for the duration of the 8 week program (February 5th - March 19th) on Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 PM.
Location: 149 Ennell St, Lowell, MA 01850
MBTA Line Accessibility: Lowell Line Commuter Rail. There are also many local bus stops near Greenhalge Elementary.
At Boston Cares, we recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental values that guide our mission and work.
