Become a Financial Wellness Coach for Women with WMM!
Women's Money Matters aims to empower women and girls to improve their financial health to create a more secure future for their families and communities.
Volunteers are paired one-on-one with a participant in the program. Together, they attend weekly financial wellness workshops as part of a cohort, where participants learn about key financial topics such as tracking income and expenses, learning about their money personalities, and how to build and repair credit, among others. In addition to the group workshops, volunteers meet individually with their assigned participant outside of workshop sessions. These one-on-one meetings help reinforce the material covered, support research and learning, and assist participants as they work toward the personal financial goals they set for themselves. Volunteers serve as accountability partners and a supportive presence throughout the program. No prior financial expertise is required—training and materials are provided.
Please note: This opportunity is open to cis and trans women, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centers on the experiences of women and girls. Volunteers must be 24+ to participate.
Time committment: Volunteers will be expected to commit on a weekly basis for the duration of the 8 week program (January 24th- March 14th). There are Weekly Workshops (1.5hours) and a 1-on-1 meeting with participant (1 hour). Volunteers need to be availble on Saturdays from 9:30-11:00AM.
Location: This program is held virtually on zoom.
At Boston Cares, we recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental values that guide our mission and work. Boston Cares is committed to creating a community where everyone is valued, respected, and can come and participate as their authentic selves. We expect that all volunteers and partners join us in promoting a safe and supportive space for everyone.
