MISSION: Bethany Hill Place, a living and learning community of MetroWest neighbors, sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, provides housing with educational opportunities for those in need within a climate of respect, inclusion, and acceptance. Residents are empowered to fully engage in, and transform their lives in a safe, supportive environment. DESCRIPTION: Bethany Hill Place, located in Framingham, MA, opened its doors in 1994 as a unique living and learning housing model. The building comprises forty-one apartments which currently house 120 residents, seventy-four adults and forty-six children as of 2023.The living arrangements promote communal activities and relationships while ensuring personal privacy and fostering independence. IMPACT: Since its inception in 1994, Bethany HIll Place has guided its residents to a variety of opportunities for success. Through one-on-one coaching and mentoring meetings residents set and commit to personal, economic and health related goals, all which will help solidify a pathway to economic stability. The majority of resident goals center around educational pursuits with more than $12,000 in scholarships being awarded to youth and adult learners. Living healthier lives through improved physical and mental health, well-being, and social connections is a major goal at Bethany Hill Place. This year 200+ hours of individualized therapy and group workshops were held to address stress, anxiety, and mental health issues. Our youngest residents participate in afterschool, summer, and school vacation youth programming, are offered homework assistance, reading buddies, enrichment, and leadership activities to strengthen their development and increase academic achievement. For older teens and adults opportunities include, financial literacy and debt resolution coaching, parenting education, college and career readiness exploration, ESOL tutoring, and community events that help build stability, healthy relationships, communication skills, social connections, and economic mobility.
