MISSION To transform motivation in order to promote ownership of the learning process in middle and high school students so that they can realize their full potential in school and in life. DESCRIPTION Founded in 1981, the Boston Learning Center has been committed to promoting academic excellence for urban students. They believe that youth are an invaluable asset for social change and community empowerment, particularly within low-income urban neighborhoods. They understand that many under-performing students are dynamic individuals with untapped potential who are natural leaders among their peers. IMPACT For more than 22 years, Boston Learning Center has been dedicated to helping students to excel in school. Modeled after the renowned Harvard Literacy Laboratory at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, the Boston Learning Center has successfully served more than 3,000 students in Boston's public, private, parochial, and charter schools.
