They bring families together in a learning community dedicated to the celebration of diversity and to excellence in early care and education. Born in 1965 during the civil rights movement, Roxbury Weston is the longest running voluntary desegregation program in the United States. Today they serve families from Boston's inner city neighborhoods, Weston and surrounding urban towns. Roxbury Weston Programs promote diversity and family involvement through activities throughout the school year. Children develop oral language, problem solving and conflict resolution skills. They learn by being engaged in meaningful activities in secure environments which nurture the whole child and support academic achievement in school.
