Volunteers of America - Massachusetts

http://www.voamass.org

MISSION Volunteers of America is a national, non-profit, spiritually-based organization providing local human service programs and opportunities for individual and community involvement. DESCRIPTION In 1896, Volunteers of America (VOA) was founded on a vision and promise to "go wherever we are needed and do whatever comes to hand." For more than 100 years that spiritual and social legacy has inspired our organization's work. In Massachusetts, VOA runs comprehensive programs for elders in need of housing and health services, abused or neglected adolescents, and adults and youth in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. They reach out to those most in need, especially the vulnerable, the hardest to serve, and those facing multiple challenges. Their programs are designed to rehabilitate, not just treat, symptoms and their professional staff and volunteers are committed to serving the whole person.
